06 Abr UK-EU update
Queridos amigos,
As you know, the UK triggered Article 50 last Wednesday, and so the process for the UK to leave the EU has commenced. However, the UK Government has made it very clear that it wants to keep strong ties with other European countries, especialy in the area of Science, Research, and Higher Education. As one of my colleagues says ‘ Like weather fronts and migrating swallows, culture and ideas are not stopped by border posts or passport regulations’.
I know that many people may be unsure about what happens next, especially with things like collaborations with UK researchers in Horizon 2020 bids, and so I wanted to share two documents with you, and please do feel free to distribute these to your networks.
The first is the FAQ document from UKRO, with information relevant to researchers and research organisations, and the second is the statement from Universities UK about their recommendations for the future of University ties.
I also wanted to invite you all to join the British Council LinkedIn group which we will be using over the coming months to discuss and share information about the UK-EU relationship in the area of Science, Education and Culture. The link is here for you to request to join the group: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8592305
At the British Council we are committed to fostering strong relationships between the UK and other European countries across all areas of culture and we would really like to hear from you about how best we acheive this.
